UN Officials Condemn Escalating Violence in Sudan
The United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei, UNISFA, is condemning the attacks by rival factions of the Dinka ethnic group in an area claimed by both Sudan and South Sudan killed at least 32 people over the weekend. For reaction from the United Nations’ officials on the Sudanese conflict, VOA’s Esther Githui-Ewart spoke to VOA United Nations correspondent Margaret Besheer live from the agency's headquarters in New York.
