Ireti Kingibe, the senator in Nigeria’s capital, Abuja, is using several programs to improve living standards for residents by providing them with essentials, among them food and clean water. VOA’s Peter Clottey caught up with her in a wide-ranging interview about her journey in politics, plans to uplift her constituency and programs focused on empowering women and the girl child.
