Nigerian Senator Ireti Kingibe Outlines Legislative Priorities
Senator Ireti Kingibe is a member of the opposition Labour Party which defeated long time senator Philip Aduda from the main opposition People's Democratic Party (PDP). She says she has launched initiatives to help women and girls in the Federal Capital Territory (FTC). Kingibe is also the chairperson of the Women's Affairs Committee of the Nigerian senate and is also only one of three women in the country’s upper chamber. In an interview with VOA's Peter Clottey, Senator Ireti Kingibe outlines her legislative agenda.
