Clashes Cease in Ethiopia’s Amhara Region
Calm has mostly been restored in Ethiopia's Amhara Region on Monday after new fighting erupted in the town of Gondar as militiamen battled with the military over the government's plan to disarm local forces. Residents say fighters came from a militia called FANO. For more insight on the militia and the clashes in Amhara, VOA's Paul Ndiho spoke with Yoseph Hailey, a Washington-based Ethiopian activist.
