The Archbishop of Kigali Rwanda, Cardinal Antoine Kambanda, recently celebrated mass with the African community in Washington, attended by Rwandese and Burundians. In a one-on-one interview, with VOA’s Esther Githui-Ewart, Archbishop Kambanda spoke about the role of the church, which will celebrate 125 years in the two countries, and a 30-year journey of reconciling communities after the 1994 genocide that divided Rwanda along ethnic lines.
