US Climate Change Envoy Laments Climate Change Impact on Africa
U.S. climate envoy John Kerry told the African Union climate summit in Nairobi Monday that climate change is "one of the most dangerous issues in all of human history," stating that the problem was impacting mostly Africa and other "low lying status" nations. Earlier, Kenyan President William Ruto addressed Africa's first climate summit, urging African leaders to seize the opportunity presented by climate finance to attract billions of dollars in investment to the continent. Organizers say they anticipate hundreds of millions of dollars in deals to be announced at the three-day summit.
