Niger Junta: France Plots to Release Bazoum
The Niger military junta said on Monday the toppled government had authorized France to carry out strikes at the presidency to try to free Bazoum. Junta spokesman Col. Maj. Amadou Abdramane said that the authorization was signed by Niger Foreign Affairs Minister Hassoumi Massoudou. "The use of digital, analog and electronic means to divulge information affecting the privacy, moral and psychological integrity of individuals, state security and national security is prohibited and punishable by penalties and imprisonment," said Abdramane, adding "offenders" will be detained and handed over to the courts.
