UN Special Envoy to Sudan Warns of Ethnic-Driven War
U.N. Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Sudan Volker Perthes on Monday briefed the Security Council on the conflict in the northeastern African country, citing concerns that fighting could turn into an ethnic-driven conflict if the warring parties do not respect and extend a cease-fire that was supposed to begin Monday.
