Pope Francis Concludes SSudan Visit Calling for Peace
Pope Francis concluded his South Sudan visit urging peace and an end to the violence in the nation. Speaking at a Mass, held at the John Garang Mausoleum in Juba, the pontiff urged people to "lay down the weapons of hatred and revenge," and “overcome the dislikes and aversions" that have pitted ethnic groups against one another. Francis was in the nation for an Africa tour that began in the Democratic Republic of Congo earlier in the week.
