S.Africa Calls for Diplomatic Resolution to End Ukraine War
South Africa's Foreign Minister Naledi Pandor urged for a diplomatic resolution to the ongoing war in Ukraine during a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov following his visit to the country's capital. "We will reiterate our view that the concerns of both nations must be addressed in that process of diplomacy," Pandor told journalists in Pretoria. Lavrov claimed during the visit that Moscow was willing to negotiate with Ukraine in the early months of the war, but the West advised Kyiv against it. The U.S. and other Western nations, however, have said that Russia is not serious about negotiations to end the war, which will mark its one-year anniversary next month.
