Amid fighting between M23 rebels and government forces in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, some organizations are relocating staff because they no longer feel safe. The M23 says it has taken control of Goma – the largest city in the Democratic Republic of Congo’s east, and aid workers say hundreds of thousands of Congolese fled the city over the weekend. South Africa’s president says he is confident in his country’s relationship with the U.S. under the new Trump administration, although Secretary of State Marco Rubio has not been specific about Africa policy.
