After a review of the votes from across the country, the Electoral Commission of Ghana has officially declared John Mahama, candidate for the National Democratic Congress, the winner of the 2024 presidential election. Israel has pounded Syria with dozens of airstrikes since President Bashar al-Assad fled to Russia as rebel fighters advanced, and it’s unclear who will now emerge as the leader of Syria. Labor unions in South Africa are pleased with the country’s new 45 percent tariffs on clothing imports but many consumers are unhappy.
