The United Nations envoy to Western Sahara, Staffan de Mistura, has proposed reviving an old proposal for partitioning the disputed Western Sahara as one way to satisfy all sides. The Intergovernmental Authority on Development, or IGAD, is calling for women to be involved in peace and reconciliation efforts in war-torn Sudan. American expatriates in Burkina Faso are preparing to exercise their civic duty by voting in the upcoming U.S. presidential election.
