Ugandan Politician Robert Kyagulanyi popularly known as Bob Wine says that the Oscar nomination for the movie ‘Bobi Wine: The People’s President’ helped bring global attention to his movement to bring about democratic change in his country. Nominated in the best documentary feature category, the movie lost out to‘20 Days in Mariupol’, a distressing report from a besieged Ukrainian city. Before joining politics, Bobi Wine was one of the most popular musicians in Uganda. Speaking to VOA’s Jackson Mvunganyi from Los Angeles, Bobi Wine says he transitioned into politics to advocate for the marginalized youth
