New Film 'Shirley' Tells the Story of the First Black Female Elected to US Congress
The life and legacy of the first Black American female member of Congress has been depicted in a new Netflix film “Shirley.” Award-winning actress Regina King plays the trailblazing politician Shirley Chisholm, who also campaigned to be the presidential nominee for the Democratic Party in 1972.
