Ethiopia's Tamirat Tola adds gold to his Olympic record, after bronze in Rio
Tamirat Tola of Ethiopia set a new record at the 2024 Paris Olympic games in the men's marathon. A 10,000 bronze medalist at the Rio Games eight years ago, the 32-year-old athlete added Olympic marathon gold to his 2022 World Athletics Championships title after completing the testing Paris course in two hours, six minutes and 26 seconds, knocking six seconds off the previous record.
