Donald Trump accepts nomination as Republican presidential candidate
Former President Donald Trump formally accepted the nomination as the Republican party’s presidential candidate nomination in the 2024 US general election. As the overwhelming favorite, Trump now has his party’s full support as he looks to challenge incumbent President Joe Biden in November. VOA’s Esther Githui-Ewart spoke to VOA reporter Carol Van Dam live at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin about the celebrations surrounding the former president’s acceptance speech.
