Kenyan Senate begins impeachment trial of Deputy President Gachagua
Kenya’s Senate began the impeachment trial Wednesday against Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. This comes after Kenya’s National Assembly voted Tuesday to advance 11 charges including corruption, undermining the government and stirring ethnic hatred. VOA’s Esther Githui-Ewart spoke to Francis Ontomwa, a reporter with VOA Africa affiliate news station KTN, for an update on the trial and how Kenyans are reacting.
