Washington, DC area celebrates Eid-al-Adha
Eid-al-Adha, the Festival of Sacrifice, is one of the most significant holidays in the Islamic calendar. The three-day holiday commemorates the story of Ibrahim, or Abraham, who was commanded by God to sacrifice his son, a test of faith and obedience. VOA’s Jackson M’vunganyi has more on how some young Muslims in the Washington region celebrated the day.
