Ex-Arsenal Soccer Players Return to US for First Exhibition Game
Arsenal Football Club returned to the U.S. for their 2023-2024 season preparations. Led by professional soccer manager Mikel Arteta, the team played its first game against the Major League Soccer All-Stars in Washington, D.C. before going to New Jersey and Los Angeles to play Manchester United and Barcelona. VOA’s Tim Ishimwe and Edward Rwema attended a reception event at the Rwandan embassy where former Arsenal players were hosted as part of a partnership the country has forged with Arsenal Football Club and have this story.
