Sierra Leone President Julius Maada Bio’s main rival and former foreign minister Samura Kamara, and other presidential candidates have signed a peace pledge a move to help ensure the coming June 24 general election remains peaceful. Analysts say the agreement was a necessary signal to supporters of the candidates not to engage in violence during the election process and will help ease rising political tensions. Abdul Fatoma, executive director for Campaign for Human Rights and Development International, speaks with VOA's Peter Clottey about the significance of the peace accord.
