Nigeria’s INEC Stands by February 25 Announcement
Nigeria’s electoral body, the Independent National Electoral Commission says it will stand by the verdict of holding the 2023 elections on the 25th of February, despite increasing threats of insecurity and attacks on its staff and facilities. In response observers have called on authorities to step in and hinder the attacks that could potentially jeopardize the elections that are set to find a replacement for the outgoing President Muhammadu Buhari who has served his two-term limit.
