2022 was an emotional year for women worldwide.From the abortion debates sparked by the overturning of Roe vs Wade in the United States -- to more recently the Taliban suspending higher education for all female students in Afghanistan. We also have the splendid images from Qatar of Moroccan mothers dancing and celebrating their sons’ victory as the Moroccan team advanced to the quarter finals at the World Cup. What a year! This week, Our Voices will be reviewing some of the biggest events that we covered last year.
Africa 54 - U.S. Lawmakers Enter Day Four with No Speaker; Sudan Demands Civilian Government & More
On Africa 54: U.S. lawmakers have made history having entered their fourth day and failed to vote in a Speaker of House after eleven failed votes over three days. Civilians in Sudan have taken to the streets of Khartoum again with demands of pushing the military junta to seize power to a civilian led government. In our weekly entertainment segment, U.S.-based Ghanaian singer BiQo performs in a New York studio with VOA’s Heather Maxwell as the MC.
