The United States of America is currently host to over 700 young African leaders under the Mandela Washington Fellowship, a six-week flagship program of the U.S. sponsored Young African Leaders Initiative which was founded by Barack Obama, America’s first Black President whose intentions were to uplift young African leaders by providing them with mentorship, networks to global leaders and funding. VOA’s Mike Hove and Mayra de Lassalette are joined by alumni as they discuss the role the U.S. fellowship is playing in shaping the future of what experts say is the youngest and fastest growing continent.
