South Sudan in Focus: A South Sudan People’s Defense Forces general and several soldiers were killed Friday morning in an attack by the White Army militia as the United Nations Mission in South Sudan tried to air lift them out of Nasir. An UNMISS pilot also died. President Salva Kiir Mayardit is calling for calm after Army General David Majur Dak and 27 others were killed in an attack by the White Army militia in Nasir County today. The victims were being evacuated aboard two UN helicopters when they came under attack. Some young women in South Sudan's business community said women who want to launch their own businesses should overcome their fear as the world celebrates International Women Day on March 8, 2025.
