Africa News Tonight: Trial begins in DRC coup case, IOM says 10 million Sudanese displaced, informal markets get health guidelines
In the Democratic Republic of Congo, about 50 people – including a few Americans – went on trial over what the army has called an attempted coup on May 19. The International Organization for Migration warns the number of internally displaced people in Sudan will soon top 10 million as conflict and acute hunger spread throughout the country. The African Union and the International Livestock Research Institute are teaming up to design the first guidelines to help African governments improve food safety in informal markets.
