As expected, both President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump won big in the Super Tuesday primaries in the United Sates, and remain on track to be their parties’ presidential nominees. When Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2019, he was lauded as a regional peacemaker, but one analyst says his reputation as a leader who could unite Ethiopia has deteriorated. Egyptian lawyer Mona Zulficar’s advocacy for women’s rights places her on a list of the most powerful businesswomen in the Middle East.
Father-Daughter Duo on Mission to Publish African Children Stories
Nigerian American engineer and storyteller Oluyemi Falomo and his daughter Mo Falomo, founded Falhouse Publishing, an independent children's publishing company, with the goal of increasing the representation of different authors and characters in children's books. The original plan was to release Oluyemi Falomo's first children's book, "The Princess and the gourd," which was based on a tale he had told his son more than thirty years prior. However, they realized they needed to provide a platform for more diverse books and authors.
