Dogo from Togo and Mayonde - Music Time in Africa
In this edition, you'll listen to awesome music from Mali, Liberia Sierra Leone, Malawi, Guinea, Togo, Egypt, Burkina Faso, and Nigeria. I’ve also got two special guests today: Mass Dogo aka Dogo from Togo joins me in the studio with my Song of the Week co-host Kwame Ofori to present his Award-winning song “Soke Wo.” Dogo is based in the Washington DC area and recently won the 2019 Best World Music Aritst/Group award at the Washington Area Music Awards (WAMA) with that song. Second, our Nairobi-based reporter Bill Odidi meets up with Kenyan singer/songwriter Diana Mayonde. We’ll get to know her and listen to a couple samples of her new EP Project Purple.
