Liberian President George Weah cast his vote on Tuesday in an election that he hopes will secure him a second term. His first term was marred by corruption allegations and continued hardship in the West African country
The former soccer star came to power in 2017 on a wave of popular support after two unsuccessful attempts at the presidency.
Weah, 57, faces 19 other candidates in the presidential race. The winner must secure 50% of the total vote cast, plus at least one more vote, in order to avoid a runoff.
