WNBA Star Visits South Africa to Push for Gender Equity in BAL
WNBA star Jewell Loyd was in South Africa to talk hoops with young female players that are part of BAL4Her, the league’s program for advancing gender equity in Basketball Africa League. During a short break between her obligations, Loyd who plays for the Seattle Storm reminisced on her friendship with her mentor Kobe Bryant. She said that his message to her was always the same. "Be epic and create forever." At this year’s BAL4HER event participants talked about developing the young girls' leadership skills, confidence, and personalities through the game of basketball.
