VOA Series: South African whistleblowers live in fear after reporting corruption
Political experts say corruption continues in South Africa – a nation which until recently was plagued by power cuts that lasted up to 16 hours a day in some areas. The nation’s state-owned passenger rail agency, PRASA, is among the assets impacted by corruption leading to the unlawful distribution of government contracts worth millions. For VOA, reporter Ihsaan Haffeejee spoke to experts and whistleblowers who worked in different industries in South Africa.
