The breakaway region Somaliland holds its presidential election on Wednesday. The northwest Somalia territory unilaterally declared independence in 1991 but has yet to be recognized by any country. Eight months after Senegal’s President Bassirou Diomaye Faye and Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko were elected, voters will go to the polls to elect a new parliament Sunday.
