Kenyan police hurled tear gas Tuesday at hundreds of demonstrators protesting gender-based violence, or femicide, in Nairobi. An unknown number of people were arrested. Opposition leader John Mahama was officially declared the winner of the Ghana’s presidential election Monday evening, defeating the ruling party candidate 56 percent to 41 percent.
