‘Violence Must Stop Before National Dialogue’- Eswatini Authorities
Authorities in the kingdom of Eswatini Tuesday spoke on recent recommendations by leaders of the SADC Troika, who called on Prime Minister Cleopas Dlamini’s administration to “urgently initiate a process of national dialogue with pro-democracy groups,” to address violence in the nation. In an interview with host of VOA’s Daybreak Africa James Butty, Eswatini’s national spokesperson, Alpheous Nxumalo said government has always been open to holding national talks with pro-democracy groups, but that cannot happen amid the violence that has rocked the kingdom over the past year.
