US lawmakers act for Sudan
US Representative Sydney Kamlager-Dove is leading 50 members of Congress who are urging the Biden administration to scale up humanitarian aid in Sudan following the famine declaration at Zamzam internal displaced persons camp in Darfur. The lawmakers sent a letter to Secretary of State Antony Blinken and USAID Administrator Samantha Power calling for greater resources and staffing for Special Envoy for Sudan Tom Perriello to reflect the urgent need to end the conflict in Sudan. Congresswoman Kamlager-Dove told VOA’s John Tanza that time is of essence.
