US Envoy Attacked in Sudan
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken Tuesday provided an update on ceasefire calls in Sudan and mentioned that he held separate calls with the commanders of the Northeast African nation’s Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces paramilitary. Blinken also told the media in Japan where he is attending a G7 meeting that a diplomatic convoy sanctioned to Sudan by Washington was fired on, adding that no one was harmed – a development he described as “reckless and irresponsible.”
