South Sudan Dismisses UN Concerns About Election Preparedness [6:18]
United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres has written to the Security Council president, raising concern about South Sudan's lack of preparedness for the upcoming December 2024 elections. Guterres’ eight-page document highlighted incomplete benchmarks for successful elections - the country's first since independence in 2011. However, in an interview with VOA's John Tanza, South Sudan's Minister for Foreign Affairs James Pitia Morgan dismissed Guterres' concerns as invalid.
