The UN Mission in South Sudan says communal violence remains the primary driver of conflict in the country, according to its latest quarterly brief on violence in South Sudan. The UN say its peacekeeping mission’s Human Rights Division documented 206 incidents affecting 792 civilians plus cases sexual violence between July and September 2024. The report raises concerns on the steep increase of violence by 33 percent. Deng Gai Deng reports from Jonglei's state capital, Bor.
