UN Releases Economic Development in Africa Report
Africa’s abundant supply of vast minerals and raw materials could turn the continent into a global supplier of raw materials, according to a report released on Wednesday by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development. The report says the continent has undeniable natural resources to benefit its workforce. For an analysis of the report, VOA’s Esther Githui-Ewart spoke to Paul Akiwumi, the Director of the Division for Africa, Least Developed Countries and Special Programs at UNCTAD.
