U.S. Republicans will on Wednesday at Noon attempt to break a deadlock with far-right members of their own party over the election of a new leader of the House of Representatives. On Tuesday, the chamber was thrown into disarray as they blocked the election of favorite Kevin McCarthy's bid for the position. It's a first in one hundred years that U.S. lawmakers in the House of Representatives have not elected a Speaker of the House in one round of voting, despite Republicans winning the majority, as VOA’s Congressional Correspondent Katherine Gypson reports.
