Tension scares Malakal residents

Residents in the Upper Nile state capital, Malakal, are indoors. Shops are closed and streets empty. Mamer Abraham Kuot, a freelance journalist in the town, told VOA’s John Tanza the situation could turn into ethnic clashes because of the rampant culture of revenge killings across communities in the East African nation.
