South Sudan’s collapsed bridge cuts residents
Communities of Owinykibul village in Eastern Equatoria state have been cut off from the rest of South Sudan after heavy rains washed away a major bridge in the area. A community leader says both state and national governments have done little to intervene since the bridge collapsed earlier this week. A minister in charge of roads and bridges in Eastern Equatoria state says his office has no money to fix the bridge. Denis Logonyi has more from Juba.
