South Sudan defy government’s social media ban

South Sudanese are back on social media despite a ban on Facebook and TikTok. The National Communications Authority imposed a ban on the two platforms last week after online video surfaced showing Sudan Armed Forces allegedly killing South Sudanese in Wad Madani. The president of South Sudan’s chapter of the Internet Society is calling on the country’s communication authority and parliament to enact cybersecurity and crimes law to avoid what he calls a blanket attack on people’s rights.
