South Korea's President Yoon Suk Yeol hosted a first-ever summit with leaders and representatives of 48 African countries on Tuesday, as his country seeks to tap into the continent's vast mineral resources. Speaking during the summit, Yoon said South Korea would increase development aid for Africa to $10 billion over the next six years. He also pledged to offer $14 billion in export financing to promote trade and investment for South Korean companies in Africa. Included in the African leaders who are in attendance of the South Korea- Africa summit are Rwanda’s President Paul Kagame, Zimbabwe’s Emmerson Mnangagwa and Guinea-Bissau’s Umaro Sissoco Embalo.
