Sierra Leone Opens for International Tourism
Sierra Leone has made great strides to bring cohesion in the country in the last decade, following years of strife when the rebel United Front group revolted against a longstanding dictatorship, fueled by wealth from diamonds in the east of the country. VOA’s Esther Githui-Ewart welcomed Kadijatu Grace Ahene Kamara, Sierra Leone’s Deputy Minister of Tourism & Cultural Affairs, for an update on how the country is quickly becoming a tourist destination.
