Sierra Leonean citizens are rejoicing following the election of the country to the U.N. Security Council as a non-permanent member, after an absence of 53 years from the world body. Sierra Leone becomes one of two African representatives on the Security Council, joining Mozambique. Information Minister Mohamad Rahman Swaray spoke to VOA’s Peter Clottey about his country’s new U.N. role.
