Russia Promises Africa 50,000 Tons of Free Grain
Russian President Vladimir Putin Thursday addressed African leaders attending the Africa-Russia Summit during which he promised that Moscow will send up to 50,000 tons of free grain supplies to Burkina Faso, Zimbabwe, Mali, Somalia, Central African Republic and Eritrea. Putin’s address comes soon after the Kremlin pulled out of the Black Sea Grain deal that was helping several African nations avert food insecurity.
