Russia Builds Ties in Africa
The Russian military is deepening its efforts to absorb former Wagner Group operations in Africa by launching its own "Africa Legion" unit, according to the latest bulletin from the Institute for the Study of War think tank. The Council on Foreign Relations says Moscow has been trying to position itself as an ally to African countries and has signed military cooperation agreements with at least 19 nations since 2014.
