Reporter’s Notebook: Angola Election 2022
On August 24, Angola held general elections, the most disputed in its recent history. Results declared on Monday placed the Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA) as the winner with 51.17% of the vote, while the National Union for the Total Independence of Angola (UNITA) got 43.95%, its best result ever. VOA’s Mayra de Lassalette with the Portuguese Service details her trip to Luanda, Angola after covering the election there for 13 days.
