Nigeria's Foreign Minister says his government is advocating for the extension of AGOA, a U.S. law that provides eligible sub-Saharan African countries with duty-free access to the United States market. During his recent trip to the United States, Minister Yusuf Tuggar met with American officials as a follow up to the 6th U.S.-Nigeria Binational Commission meeting that was held in Abuja on April 29. Tuggar spoke exclusively to VOA’s Jackson M’vunganyi about Nigeria’s foreign policy initiatives, as well as his country’s decision to rollback sanctions against military-led Niger.
